propshaft to pad

I have a 1710 bass tracker limited edition with a johnson gt150 serial number j150stlco i have been experimenting with props but have no idea where i need to be on set-up it is a deep v hull for a bass boat i have the motor in the last hole only getting 5100 rpm with a 25 pitch trophy pluss which seems low but i can blow it out from half throttle to wide open is it possibe tach is wrong engine idles at about 800-1000 rpms which seems right so i guess i have two questions could tach be off and if so how can i test it and where should i b from prop to pad set-up:confused: any help would be apreciated:D

25 " pitch prop is pretty tall. Did you lose RPM with a new prop, or is the boat new to you?

My 225 Yamaha on a Stratos wouldn't run that 25 pitch Trophy.
That is a steep prop, & I'd guess a 23" would be closer to the ticket on your rig.
If you are blowing out, you are probably either too high or trimmed out too far. One thing that 4 blade isn't lacking is bite.
All of that makes me think your tach is right & you are over propped.
Show a pic of your setup.
Are you running a jackplate at all?
