Propwash question

Took my 27' sundacer to the ocean this past week. It ran great for several days. But i noticed on the 4th day the rmps were up and the speed was down.

I looked behind the boat and notice there was a weird propwash, there was like a 12" round 10' long wash coming from the prop allmost like there was no water above the prop and it was just shooting water back like what i think a jet propelled boat would put out. It was almost shooting a rooster tail.

I check to see if the tilt/trim was right and it was. infact i put the outdrive all the way down and it made no differance.

It did this the rest of the rest of the time there. any suggestions what it might be? Bob

Re: Propwash question

My opinion is it was something probably wrapped around the prop.

Re: Propwash question

Did you have to put the boat in reverse before you checked the prop, because that could have released anything that was attached to the drive. My brother did that with my boat one time and when he reversed the bag came off.
