Hello all

looking at a 1985 Carver 3607 aft cabin, plan to have it surveyed before purchase but i am looking for anything or any info good/bad on this vessel.

General problems that the Carver's had, special things to look for etc

anyone that has a Carver that has special insight into problems they have had
that kind of info would be great to have before i spend 3-400 on a survey.

i know the crusader engines have about 1400 hrs on it so I may be looking at some work their, owner is asking 49k for a 22 year old boat?

nada has it about that price

please get back with any info you have on the carver's

thanks for the help in advance

Re: prospective Carver owner needs info

I purchased my Carver 350 Aft Cabin last year after doing some research. I am not aware of any "chronic" issues with Carver boats. As you said, you will have old stuff that will need to be repaired or replaced. We had a few things like water system pump replacement, a bilge pump, shower sump, and a little cosmetic work. That said, I think the Carver is a good value and has its niche. It is NOT an offshore vessel, but is a very capable and comfortable near shore or inland waters boat. The pre-purchase yacht survey is very important to you! Make sure your surveyor completes compression checks on all engines and includes an oil sample evaluation... this will tell you if your engines are "making metal" and well worth the extra money and is cheap piece-of-mind. Good luck! We love our boat!Drew

Why do you say that a 1985 Carver 3607 is NOT an offshore vessel?
