Re: psi test lower unit

Profile? U might be close to someone who can help.
If U remove the drain plug and get a bit of water from the screw hole and the rest is good oil.It just might be a bad seal on the plug.I have to use pipe sealer or pipe tape on the plug and it still weeps a bit
I have a tester that pumps air into the lower and has a guage that reads the pressure.I pump it up to about 10-13# and hope it holds.J

thanks... yea the water was basically a dribble.... funny thing is i took the plug out to see if there was any water in it when i winterized it and there was none... Then yesterday i changed the lower unit oil, Getting it ready for its first outting and there was alittle water like I dont know maybe a tablespoon worth of water. And then the rest was pure oill... Thanks

Don't know if it would be the same.
I have 70 55hp chrysler. When I redid my Lower end I hit it with about 10psi and found my leak in a gasket. Problem with doing this, you may not see the seals leaking air if the lower leg is still on the out board.

You'd have drain oil, drop leg in bucket of water then hit the drain plug with about 10 psi,
