pt130 tilt trim question johnson 40hp

I had my pt 130 installed yesterday. the cable for my manual tilt and trim lever was broke and I told the installer not to fix it as I would use the pt 130 tilt and trim. Here is my question will the motor jump up if I shift it in reverse and have to get on the throttle. since that tilt assist lever is not connected will that cause me to not have a way to keep the motor from wanting to fly up towards the boat or will that pt 130 keep that motor locked down where it wont fly upwards Thanks
