While running high throttle my 1969 10hp Evinrude motor sharply quit. After that I could not pull the starting cord and when the motor is not running and in gear the prop cannot be turned. The water pump had been working fine, I checked it several times that day and my fuel mix was rich if anything. For a couple of trips there had been a little rattling sound coming from somwhere I could not locate. Other then that, it was running great. Is she dead?
JT

I took block off and started taking it apart, and a bunch of pins fell out of it. Now the pistons move, but I dont know where those pins came from.
JT

the pins are bearing rollers. almost certainly a problem with a connecting rod. has a bearing cap come off the big end or maybe small end (wirstpin) bearing has badly failed. u wont know until you take everything apart.
keep posting
