pull start kit? drawing of upper unit?

well, we are at it again, this time its the fishing boat. johnson outboard 30 hp motor. the top unit where the pull rope goes is messed up, i do not even know what part to look up because i cant find a diagram or drawing of this particular area. its model # j30rcoa<br />any help? thank you all for letting me bug you, <br />Carol Cox

Its called the plate thing that the rewind starter sits in.<br /><br />Iam also blond..welt.... mosley gray really....Hebin help us...grin!<br /><br />I sorta doubt you can order diffrent parts....bet ya you will have to order the whole shootin match.<br /><br />Luck tu ya!

Don't know what you mean "sits in". The rewind starter sits on top of the engine block in tripod fashion and is bolted to it at three points. Underneath this recoil starter is the flywheel.

In the parts list, item 395450 (not shown) is the rewind starter assembly.

I found what we need finally thank you all, it is called a rewind starter kit and starter housing assembly. wow im relieved! thank you, now to find a dealer... hummmmm<br />thank you all so much!<br />Carol
