Pulled my lower unit and the water tube came with it

...is it just a friction fit back up to the head or did something bad happen?

Whenever I've dropped the LU's before, the water tubes always stayed up in the leg.

It just sides into a rubber bushing at the top

No biggie. Just says that on your particular engine one fits the tube tighter than the other one.
