Can I pull a piston out of a 1995 175 Evinrude without pulling the powerhead. It looks like I can remove the back of the crankcase, but I'm not sure. I have a manual ordered, but I'd like to see how much damage I have.

Nope, you'll have to remove the powerhead.

You can't split the crankcase , otherwise.

The lower crankhead bolts, have to be removed.

Thanks! Anything I should be aware of when pulling it.

While you are waiting for your manual read your brains out right here. Learn to use the red search at the top of the page. When you get your manual read it before picking up a wrench. You will save a lot of time and agrivation by getting a sense of what you need to do before you start. And come back with questions when they come up. Lots of help here.
