When we bought our pontoon boat, the people(retired couple) gave us everthing, guess they were getting out of boating completely. One of the items is a "Extreme Performance"- the big one tube. I pulled my son around on it for awhile- 20,30 minutes. when we stopped and he got back on board, I went to get the tube, not sure how much water was in the tube but I had a hell of a time getting it out of the water. Felt like it weighted 70-80 lbs, question, is that much water commonly inside the liner incasing the tube, seems like I am pulling around a sea anchor

We just bought a 42" one and it has a drain w/ check valve in the bottom so when you pull it the water drains out.

Re: Pulling a tube

One of the problems is I have the tube under inflated according to this site, sounds as if the tube should be like a rock, if they say that a properly inflated tube should only let me sink a couple inches at most(6' 2"- 205lbs) then I have more air to add. That may help to shed water better as it is being pulled

I have a 4 person one that has 2 drains at the back, with flaps covering them so they make kind of a suction when moving to get the water out, (well most of it). I run my at a good firm feel, dont know the psi. It doesnt get a lot of water in it.

Re: Pulling a tube

we have had simular problems. The key is to inflate it till she is full. It glides along the water much better. We found if it was not inflated enough sometimes it would noes dive as we were taking off. I think it hilarious but my kids have their own opinion!
as far as getting it in the boat...mine holds a bit of water to, just have to see where the drains are and pull it in accordingly, mine takes about 30 seconds to drain as i am lifting it onto the platform
