Thanks for the response SOLittle. I do have a puller. It reaches on the outside of the flywheel and pushes against the center shaft of the engine. Will that work to pull the flywheel off or do I have to get one to mount to those 3 small screws that are for the pull starter?

A puller with 3 bolts would be my recomendation. The other type may damage the flywheel.

yeah i used a harmonic balancer puller on mine and it worked like a champ. it's a 3 bolt puller with a center drive that goes in the dimple in the top of the shaft. u can probably pick one up at any local auto parts store. yeah pulling in the outside of the flywheel will surely mess it up or bend it.

That will work to break the flywheel.
A harmonic balancer puller will work. 1/4 - 20 grade 8 bolts. Shouldered stripper bolts if you can find them.

Torque back to 105 ft/lbs

agree with not using the jaw type puller.I pulled a flywheel off the steel insert yrs ago ,because,I didnt listen,a harmonic balancer puller with 3 bolts is te way.you can buy or rent them at many auto zone or stores like that.
