To repair my gelcoat on my transom I have to pull the motor and transom plate.
Cobalt uses all fiberglass in their stringer system and motor mounts. No wood.
Would it be better to pull the lag bolts out and leave the mounts attached to the motor or unbolt the motor from the mounts and leave them in place?
If it matters to the answer of the question, the motor is a VP 8.1Gi-B and the boat is a 2002 Cobalt 226.
