My buddy has fishing line wrapped all up in the prop.Honda out board with all the controls.I am not too familiar with outboards. Should he just put it in forward and take off the nut,or does he need to ground out the coil to prevent starting?Thanks-Blair

Re: pulling prop

Remove kill cord lanyard from switch. Remove prop nut, take prop out, remove trapped fishing line, grease prop's shaft splines with marine grease, put back prop and nut, torque well and voila. If fishing line is not removed could end damaging lower unit oil seal.

Happy Boating

You can also put the engine in neutral, place a piece of wood between a prop blade and the anti-cavitation plate and then remove the nut. Keep the block of wood towards the center of the plate, were it's stronger.
