My steering pulls hard to the right after up on plane. I have to trim down to get it to stop pulling. Will raising the motor help alleviate the problem It is lowered as far as it will go now.

Welcome!!

Raising the motor will have an effect. But it may not be the affect you're looking for. The little tab above the prop is designed to counter the torque. If the motor pulls to the right, move the tab to the right. As you go up the tab will be les and less in the water, obviously. If you go high enough you may end up with a torque tab added to the skeg. I'm sure they sell them right here at iboats.

It depends how much you're trimming up. If it's not an extreme amount you can adjust the trim tab on the motor (the little fin thing behind the prop). Loosen, rotate a bit the appropriate way, re-tighten and then test drive. If you're trimming it way up, then I think the trim tab becomes relatively ineffective. Usually you can fine adjust the trim tab so the pull isn't extreme at normal speeds/trim.

---edit---

beat to the punch!

I appreciate the input. After reading that the anti-cavitation plate should be even with the bottom of the boat, I thing the height on mine is right where it should be. Trim tab is turned to the right as much as it will turn. Maybe 5-10 degrees. It is an 1995 yamaha and doesn't turn much

Even with the bottom is a good starting point.
Try raising the motor one hole.It may help and it could give you a little more speed.
I believe certain props may help torque problems some.If you ask over at the prop forum they may be able to help. They will want specifics about your Boat/motor set up including prop size and WOT rpm.

Make sure it is the front of the tab that is pointing to the right.

rickster that is not correct.

If your -boat- pulls right, turn the trailing edge (rear) of the tab to the right a bit.
