pulse limiter replacement

Hi,
I guess I'm going to remove "pulse limiter" and replace with a straight barbed fitting when replacing my vro w/
new p/n 0385784 non vro fuel pump. Should I use a brass fitting from hardware store? 1990 Johnson 70hp J70TLESB,

I used a brass hose barb from NAPA, just take the pulse limiter with you to match the sizes. A fitting from anywhere should work.
