Pulse Pump Inlet Orientation

The fuel side of the VRO pump on my 2001 70hp Johnson died, so I replaced it with an OMC 438559 pulse pump. The pump is mounted with the brass nipples pointing down and the triangle shaped end of the housing pointing up. I read that the inlet should be at the bottom of the pump to avoid the formation of bubbles. However, because of the routing of the gas line, I am having trouble with the hose kinking going to the inlet. I can alleviate this by rotating the inlet to point upwards (top in this photo). Will I have trouble with bubbles?

Re: Pulse Pump Inlet Orientation

It should be just fine. The inlet is designed to be rotated around. The pump body does have and up and down orientation.
