Has anyone here tackled changing the Fuel pump mounted fuel filter? I have a 98 3.0LX engine and there is a filter in the BOTTOM of the pump.Just found that out last fall!!!
It has a lockwire and screw clamp holding it in place. I have not touched this filter since new.Figure it's time for a change.
most hulls its easier to remove the fuel pump. be vary careful loosening that screw thats holds the filter cup on. if ya break it the bail is not avalible seperately.
if you have access though it can be changed with the pump in place. there is a spring that you will fight as well.

Thanks All...
I can access it on the engine.
the pic above is from laying on my side and "Looking" @ the pump. Should I remove and plug the fuel feed or just leave it?

Thanks in advance

One thing about that filter, it is not a water seperating filter. Your best bet after you change that filter is to install an aftermarket (Racor as an example) fuel filter/water seperator. Then you shouldn't have to worry about replacing that fuel pump filter, just the spin on on your filter seperator.
