Hi, I'm not quite sure if I'm doing dambage or not, but when my trim gauge reads full up the outdrive is actually only half way there, I'm guessing thats supposed to be that way to keep trim within effective range, although when I go to trailer my boat the only indication I have to let me know it's there is sometimes I can feel the drive bump the stop and or I hear the pump let out a squeel, I cringe every time I hear it. Is there some sort of warning device I should have or is it not stressing the system and I shouldn't worry about it. Thanks. Oh almost forgot it's an OMC Cobra.

Re: pump squeal at full tilt

It doesn't hurt to do that for a short time. It's just the relief valves in the pump opening and closing. One thing you DON'T want to do is leave the drive at full tilt under pressure like that. Just bump the down button do dump the pressure off the rams and trim pump.
