Hi fellahs. I've got a 20 foot Manatee with a cuddy that can comfortably fit my ole lady and I and our dog. I got the bright idea to install a TV in there for those rainy or gloomy days. My question is how to wire it when using just a marine battery. Do I wire up a cigerette lighter and run a power inverter from it or....?

Re: Puttin a TV in the Cuddy help

The "easy" option is to get a TV w/ an external AC/DC power brick, that turns 120VAC to 12VDC. Discard the power brick and run the 12VDC right into the TV. I ran a TV wired that way for years on my boat.

The issue is most new televisions are AC-only, w/ a NEMA 1-15 plug on the small ones and a NEMA 5-15 plug on the larger ones.

Get an older used TV off of Craigs List that has the external power brick. It will be LOTS easier / safer than an inverter.
