Hi guys I recently purchased a 14' deep and wide lund that I plan on restoring and putting a casting deck and floor in this winter. I've been reading some threads and watching some YouTube videos, I want to carpet the floor when I'm done. So I understand I need to use marine grade plywood, do I have to do anything to the wood before putting it in and carpeting over? Also for the framing what kind of 2x4s do I use? Is there such a thing as marine grade or do I just use regular or pressure treated wood for the framing?

Well that's pretty obvious. I meant do I need to treat the wood with anything to help prevent rot

marine plywood is pretty much good to go. if you seal it, then when it does get moisture in it, the moisture cant escape and the wood actually rots faster.

The weight of all that stuff will add up quickly, and will have a big effect on a small boat, so don't go overboard on the design or thickness of the products used.
