When I tried separating the upper and lower halves of my Mercrusier leg it was a real bear to take apart. The front stud was corroded into the upper half, and after alot of work and cussing it finally came apart. I thought I put marine neversieze on the studs last time I had it apart, but now I cannot remember. When I put it back together should I put neversieze on the studs or should they be dry? I can't find any reference to this in my Seloc manual. BTW the studs and nuts are stainless steel, and they showed no ill effects.

Hi rattana. I can,t think off any reason why not to use neversieze. As someone said in a post on this site, it depends on the make up of the s/s .In some cases it could mean less stain rather than stain less.So I think any lub is better than siezed nuts or studs. ;)

Thanks Bayrider, I must of missed lubing up those bolts. It was a few years ago.
