PVC Vs. Hypalon ???

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but here goes nothing.

As you all know gas has gotten ridiculous, so I'm looking for a smaller inflatable to complement my 20' Fish n' Ski. The 200 hp. engine on 'her' is going to break me, and I'm wanting something I can take out on a calm day to fish without worrying about breaking the bank. I will still use my 20' boat for fishing large lakes, but not all the time.

I was wondering which boat would be the best 'Bang for the Buck' for an inflatable. I'm looking to put a minimum 30hp. engine on the back, and I don't care if it's tiller or remote driven.

I have a friend that has a Zodiak Mark II Grand Raid who loves his boat, and often runs up and down the Ohio River on it fishing for whatever he can get. The only thing is that I don't want to trust his opinion alone.

Would a PVC boat handle the same as a Hypalon boat on barge wake, heavy boat traffic, and waves? Also, if I beached the inflatable or RIB boat would I have to take special care of the hull?

Any insight would be appreciated.

I dont think the handling is different, only differences is strength of materials. I Think Hypalon is a bit stronger, but because of that the material is usually thinner.

Hypalon just last longer and is a heaver weight material than PVC, it does not make any difference in the handling, .... from beaching, depending on what you beach your hull will be fine if you beach on sand ...... I run WOT up the beach .....
