QD-23 Pull Start

Mine is missing the 2 link bars that go to the plastic piece. 203713- I called the dealer and they don't have em, several dealers that it. I tried making them yesterday using a piece of throttle cable from a lawn mower. They worked until I bolted up the recoil and started the motor, they got ripped off What do people use to repair these recoils if the parts are NLA?

I suppose you were on the right track, making your own. Might be nice to have a known good one to copy. They were also used on 5.5hp motors.

The 18's as well but they are bigger. I have 1 that is decent with the hook broken off, that's what I went by, i'll try again today.

Made 2 of them, it was the big spring that was causing the issue, I had to "spread" it out a bit to allow the recoil to pull the link back, i'm sure you know what i'm talking about. That was the problem with my first attempt, the pawl didn't get pulled back totally , I guess if it doesn't it will catch the flywheel and rebreak the links.
