My dad recently came to visit from Washington state for a real good visit. Heard the boat was out of the water with a bad rod bearing. So we rebuilt the motor together. Had a good time hanging with dad as an equal.<br />Best part was he paid for all the parts.<br /> <br />Later,

My guess is, him paying for all the parts wasn't the best part. Hanging out with him was.

you are right BoatBuoy. Hanging out with my dad for those days was very cool. We hadnt hung out like that since I was a teenager.<br />Bassy, If you will replace the sister I already have. That wpuld be a good trade.<br />Later,

This post has made me feel down.<br /><br />My parents split up when I was 11, dad moved on and did not keep in touch, I always told myself I would find out where he was but never did.<br />5 yrs ago I had a phone call at work from his new wife telling me he had died. Because it had taken her a few weeks to track me down I didn't even get to go to his funeral.<br /><br />I no I can't turn back the clock, but I wish I had found the time to look him up.

My condolences and sympathy go out to you. That is a hard loss, just try to remember the good times you did have together.
