Re: Quantity of Gear Oil

Should be 22 OZ if your engine is 3 cylinders. Otherwise 22 will be close. I have a 90 3 cyl and that is what the book calls for in it and they are almost the same engine. WW has it in the quart, Quicksilver Premium with a pump, hose, and fill adapter. Oil is recommended and the accessories make it a walk in the park.

If you have the 3 cyl engine, you should have 3 plugs into the LU. Drain obviously on the bottom, probably has a magnet in it and probably has a few iron filings....that's why it's there. Just above the AV plate are 2 more screws just like it. Open both. Fill till it starts coming out the front hole, let the big bubbles pass and plug it with a new or gasket in good shape. Continue filling till the rear vent has oil and the big bubbles have passed. Plug it in a like manner. Remove the fill adapter and insert the screw likewise on the gasket. You will loose some fluid but try to minimize it. Engine should be vertical while filling.
