Hi guys,

I found a 1946 century for sale in my town recently. It's a beautiful boat that needs some fairly easy repairs, and my dad and I fell in love with it. It has an outboard yamaha engine, and it's either a 15' or 16'. I have been searching all day online for information about it, but it's either too rare or just really hard to get info on. I was hoping someone here would have some answers to what it's worth and if it's worth it to buy. We are thinking about picking it up sometime soon to work on and use at our pond in Maine, but would really like to know if it's worth the 1000 dollar sticker price. Any info about the boat would be great thanks!

Thanks for the quick response! The website was a big help however I still could not locate the same type of boat. I want to know if it would be a good purchase and any information on 1946 Century's would be greatly appreciated, from the current prices going for them to repairing them. THanks!

Did you call the folks at A&A?

http://www.classicboating.com/

They are right across the river from where Century's were originally built. They bought much inventory and stamping machines when Century moved to Florida. It's run by a bunch old Century guys. They are more than willing to share any information they have. It would be worth a call. I am sure they could answer most, if not all, of your questions.
