Hi,

My boat is an 89 scarab 23' which has a mercruiser magnum 350 in it.

Last fall I began to diagnose a no start/no run issue but ran out of time.

I am pretty sure the issue is the ignition module at this point and may want to pickup a used one from Ebay

I need the TB IV V8-22 module and my question is do the numbers stamped into the part before the "V8-22" matter?

My module reads 8J02A V8-22

I recently saw one for sale that read 3M16A V8-22

what does the first set of numbers mean?

They are just the vendors part number is all. Found on page 2. http://www.marinemechanic.com/merc/...lder/thnbolt-IV-module-replacements_EN_14.pdf Wouldn't worry about them.;)

Your original Mercruiser part number is 814295A1 now 15899A1. Both numbers can be found so be sure it says V8-22 on it. 814295A 1 | eBay 15899A1 | eBay
