Question about a 1995 stern Drive - Chris Craft

I'm having trouble finding information about my drivetrain. Its in a 1995 Chris Craft 21 Concept and is labelled as a 5.0L EFI OMC Cobra with OMC Cobra SX outdrive. However I know Volvo Penta bought OMC in 1993 or 92. The tag on the motor and outdrive say OMC Cobra - Manufactured by Volvo Penta. The outdrive is a spitting image of volvo's SX series and from what I understand is identical. My question is how do I look up parts for this thing. When I look it up under OMC the books only go to 1992. Should I be looking up parts for this drivetrain under Volvo Penta? Any help and information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I know Volvo Penta bought OMC in 1993 or 92.

Actually, that didn't happen until 98. OMC and Volvo were in a joint venture (partnership) from 94 to 98. Both were actually selling their own versions in the early goings.
BUT, the insides of the SX drive is Volvo.

What is the Full model number or the serial number of your engine and outdrive.

Model Numbers are:

Engine: 50FAPHUE
Transom Unit: 3868175
Drive: #868157 (I cant read the first digit of the number (#) but appears to either be a 2 or 8)

So my outdrive is basically a volvo Penta SX and parts will interchange. But what if I need parts for the engine? All the books and online sources stop OMC at 1992.. My engine has a manufacturing date of 1995 and eventhough it says OMC Cobra it says in little lettering right below that "manufactured by Volvo Penta" on identification plate. I've been trying to find the correct cooling impeller and the marinas in my area are unable to look up the correct part# becuase they cant find this engine in their books.

You have an OMC engine, so I will also move this over to the OMC forum.
You can also go here http://epc.brp.com/SiteMods/BRP_Pub...efault.aspx?brands=ej&lang=E&brands=ej&lang=E to look up parts by your model number ( 50FAPHUE )

Just go to stern drive, then 1995 then find your number (last one by the way) and there is all your part numbers for your engine and drive.

Ayuh,.... Yes they did,.... 'n then they promptly Dropped the sterndrive line, carryin' Only the Outboard line...
