question about air intake silencer

I have a quick question: Inside the air intake silencer i think it's called? anyways inside there is no kind of foam or air cleaner, I was wondering if there was suppose to be? thanks

No, it is a silencer, not an air filter. No air filter is needed because there is very little dust on the lake. But the intake is very noisy without the silencer.
