Question about bleeding trailer brakes

Hi,
I have a single axle trailer that has surge brakes and it appears there is some air in the lines. My research indicates this is not a big job but I am finding different opinions as to which brake to bleed first. One source said to bleed the brake closest to the actuation and another source said to start with the brake furtherest from the actuator.

One more thing, the trailer brakes has a solenoid near the master cylinder. Does it have to be bled, and if so, how do you do that?

I need someone to break the tie.

Thanks for your recommendations.

Furthest.

The solenoid valve will be bled when you bleed the brakes since it is inline.

Start bleeding the furthest away and work your way back to the master cylinder. I put a piece of clear plastic tubing with a loop in it over the outlets so I can see the air bubbles as they come out. Not much to it, but can help keep moisture and air out of your brake lines, wheel cylinders and master cylinders. Good Luck!

Brakes 101...always start with the furthest from the master and work your way closer.
