Question about correct break in procedure.. help

Hello,<br /><br />I just got my engine back ( johnson 90Hp 1999 ) there is a new piston installed an all the other 3 piston rings have been replaced too.<br />( one piston was seized due to bad oil )<br />Also there are new bearings inside.<br /><br />I use the vro and use premix 1:50 now just untill I am possitive thet the vro works correct.<br /><br />What kind of break in procedure should I do for the new parts inside to set...<br /><br />Thanks

dont run the engine wide open for long periods of time and mostly limit your throttle to 85% or less. a few burst of WOT are acceptable. for the first hour vary your RPM's every 200 +/- every 2 minutes, then after tyour first hour or two, change it every 5-10 minutes. your best RPM range that you should run the most in with break in is between 3000 and 4500 RPM. dont stay at the same throttle for too long...the idea is to not let the engine "remember" any rpm range that you were running in during break in.

Use the vro AND premix 50:1 for 8-10 hours of use.
