Question about cylinder walls in outboards

Is it true that suzuki outboards hard chrome the cylinder walls?Also if this is true does all outboards have this or just suzuki only have this in their outboards?I was talking to another guy on a forum and he told me that suzuki's rings in their outboards seat different then any other outboards because of the way the cylinder walls are hard chromed.I'm just trying to find out if he's correct or he has no idea what he's saying.Thanks for any info.

I can not speak directly for Suzuki but if you look in, for example, a Wiseco piston catalog you will see cylinder liners that are chromed and those that are not, depending upon engine.

Rings are different and you can not use rings for a chromed liner in a non-chromed liner and vice-versa.
