The underside is glassed before laying it down. Are the edges just soaked with resin? Should a gap be allowed for the edges when the plywood pieces are butted up? Does csm get placed on the edges? I don't think I've run acroos that in all the miles of threads I've read on here. I'm still in the planning stages. Thanks for any input.

Re: Question about deck measurements for cutting plywood.

there is no expansion joint between edges of plywood.....

the best bet for the edges.....is to resin coat them at 1.5 cat rate....then after the deck is layed and the resin is not cured...but tacky.....add the peanut butter to the edges(put your filler in the gap and make sure it contacts the full edge).....this will ensure a proper encapsulation of the wood. then glass the whole shabang .

remember.....when glassing plywood for the first time.....resin coat at 1.5 cat rate.....dont wait till cure....but tacky.....then glass as per usual......this will allow the resin to soak into the wood....and allow the glass to bond chemically to the resin that has permeated the wood.

cheers

What does 1.5 Cat rate mean? only half the normal amount of Catalyst for slower set up?

1.5% Hardener (Catalyst) per appropriate volume of resin. Here's a pic of how I recommend doing a deck...
