Question about rebuilding injectors

2001 FICHT 175 HP 670 hours on motor.

I may have to send my injectors in to be cleaned up, inspected, or rebuilt. There seems to be a great deal of price difference between Injector Warehouse and DFI technologies.

Injector Warehouse is $119.00 for 6 injectors to rebuild and test.
DFI technologies is $254.00 per injector, that's $1524.00

Has anyone used either place or recommend a place that rebuilds injectors.

I know you get what you pay for.......... but I also know that Companies that think they have a lock on the market on some item will approach it with the attitude of if you want it, your going to pay for it.

Thanks.

Re: Question about rebuilding injectors

$254 sounds like the purchase price for new injectors.
Is it?

Re: Question about rebuilding injectors

On My 90Hp Ficht, the new price is $525. DFI shows they do it for $250. It's a steep price. DFI supposedly sends you the new spray pattern files to download onto the Electronics Module.

The claim is, if you don't use the files, it will cause powerhead failure. I think this is a bunch of hogwash. I seriously doubt that the minor differences between injectors can cause powerhead failure. If that's the case, then when the FI fails like mine just did, that's Zero fuel flow; which is a lot different than small fluctuations in the flow at the factory, and over many cycles of use. Yes, they claim that it compensates for wear and time (blah blah blah). It's impossible for them to model and compensate for clogging injectors.

I'm trying to clean mine now (soaking in Seafoam). If I could figure out how to take it apart, I'd clean it myself.

Any ideas?
Tim
