I have a 1993 48 HP Evinrude. I'm replacing the rectifier.

Here is the old rectifier that I am replacing.

And here is the new one. It is a Sierra.

I can figure out that the red wire goes where the red wire of the old one went. But the yellow wires aren't placed in the new one exactly like the old one.

Do I assume the yellow wire closest to the red on the new one goes where the yellow closest to the red went on the old one?

Would everything get zapped if one of those yellows were misplaced?

There is no distiction between the yellow wires. It does not matter how you connect them provided they connect to the three wires from the stator coils.

OK, great. I was afraid I would toast it again. :)
