Hello,

I've acquired one of the S-12 Sailboats that Alumacraft made and I was wondering if anyone had any idea where I might be able to pick up a sail. I'm guessing that there weren't that many made (although, strangely enough there are 2 others besides mine within about 100 miles of me, although neither of them are as complete as mine (I have the mast, 2 booms, rudder and centerboard).

Any info would be greatly appreciated, if someone else happened to have one and a mostly complete sail, even a quick drawing of it with dimensions would be cool, I could try whipping up a polytarp sail I suppose.

Thanks

Re: Question about s-12 sailboat

Colin, I have an S-12 fiberglass, tunnel-hull sail boat with a gaff-rigged main sail and jib. It is red and white with a black race stripe across the bow. Not sure the maker, maybe Alumacraft. Anyway, the sails were made by Wm. J. Mills & Co. of Greenport NY, and they are still in business and have a web site. Good luck. If they can't help I will be happy to send a picture and dimensions.

If you find more background about history and rigging, etc. I would like to hear from you.
