a few more questions, boat is a 84 malibu i/o open bow thanks once again for all the help

the first one
i was wondering if i got some automotive rubberized undercoating and sprayed the stringers, inside hull, on the foam and underside of the deck if i would benefit anything? ive already glassed the wood, but not yet installed it due to a bad transom. but dont know if/what kind of difference the coating will make. i know in a car it repels water and makes it quieter.

the second one.
im in process of replacing the deck, transom and the stringers that the engine mount to with help in other threads that i posted. was wondering ive hit the stringers that support the floor with a hammer they sound very solid in every spot that i hit them in. what is the easiest way to tell if they are rotted. sadly to say ive already poured the replacement foam. did this all before finding out the transom and engine stringers were bad. i worked my way from the front to the back.

another
i have to replace my seats due to the frames being wet rotted. can anyone recommend a tutorial or a site that i can go to to get the general idea of seat building.

another
while cutting out the transom i cut around the plug sleeve, its one of those brass sleeves that is swedged at both ends and a rubber plug seals it. questions is how do i get the transom to fit the plug sleeve? do i cut a u in the plywood and fit it as tight as i can then seal with 3m? or install a screw in style plug with a plate and 3m it in?

last one
what can i paint the inside hull and bilge with. its not seen just want to clean it up a bit.

sorry for bundling a bunch of questions in one thread just trying to keep them contained.

First its best to keep all your posts on one thread so people can follow where you are... The coating in my opinion is not needed.. Though others have discussed sealing the foam but your method would only seal the top.. and if water got there is would just sit there unless you have drainage.

The best way to tell if they are rotten is a core sample.. drill in and through the glass until you are drilling wood.. then example the wood shaving.. are the wet? if yes.. you should replace.

I would get a new plug instead of trying to fit new wood around the current one.
