question about splined drive shaft through gimbal bearing.

Hello fellow iboaters,,,I am talking about a 1985 mercruiser 200, with alpha one ok.. I purchased a driveshaft the one that goes from ujoint through gimbal bearing to motor, my old one has a (c) stamped on it and the new one has a (d) on it,both have 17 splines and 2 o rings, and same length. does this matter?? Thanks for all your help iboats your awesome!!!

The "C" means the drive has 1.65:1 ratio,
The "D" means the drive has 1.84:1 ratio,

Ayuh,.... You could grind the letter off, 'n it'll just be a shaft that fits,......

sounds good, I will leave it there for memories! lol!! new gimbal bearing on the way and I think I have to inspect the alignment better this time.
