I have a 2004 Sea Ray with a Mercruiser engine a v6 serial number on that is 0M6806624. I have a problem with my up trim on my control throttle I have read about the trim senders and things like that but mine seems to be a button the up button, I don't think it is making contact all the time and when it is making in contact..it clicks any ideas on what it could be or if that seems like the problem or if it's just sending unit.. If it is the throttle does anyone have does anyone know the procedure to remove the throttle control from the boat to get to the switch

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... It's most likely yer problem is corroded wirin' connections, back at the trim pump, than the switch at the control,....

'n if I'm wrong, Test the switch, from the pumps relays, before tryin' to remove the switch from the control,...

Does your throttle handle have the signal trim/trailer button that takes a click to go from trim up to trailer up? If so, be sure to always push the button up hard enough as it takes more effort from you to raise the drive all the way up.

Typically once the drive is nearly all the way down, A 'failed' trim limit switch/sensors won't let the trim only button at shifter bring the drive half way up....But you should be able to override the trim limit switch/sensor using the trailer up button. If the trailer up button won't bring the drive up and you hear clicking at the trim pump motor assembly, then something may be wrong at the pumps electrical circuit near the engine.

Or is it you hear clicking at the trim pump assembly while only using the trim up half way button with the drive lowered down? If so, immediately try going to trailer up mode to see if the clicking at the pump continues as a test.

Does your throttle handle have the signal trim/trailer button that takes a click to go from trim up to trailer up? Yes it does and a month ago when the intermittent
problem started on trim up.I think the click on the handle went soft but yesterday it started clicking again and I think its functional again, If I was on the water do you know of a way to raise the outdrive in case of failure of a part like this.Thank you for asking

Sure if one of the relays stops working then you'll want to have a heavy gauge jumper wire onboard so you can jump from a 12v power source to a blue wire at the trim pump assembly/motor. Blue is sky up and green is grass down. Having a test light onboard is also very handy to help know where the problem may be.
