My family is thinking about buying a 2004 VIP 202 Vantage. I have been unable to find a good price comparison and when I found this forum I thought I would ask.

Here is what I know: This 2004 VIP Cruiser/Speed Boat has been owned by only one family. Very well maintained and cleaned after everytime it is taken out. Only 140 HRS. 5.0 Mercruiser Engine, 21 foot trailer, boat is 25ft. Sun deck, Swim deck, Sun canopy, seats 10 comfortably. Plenty of cooler space. No interior damage such as burns, tears, etc. Cover included.

What do you think a reasonable price would be?
Since VIP has been sold to CADDO should we look at something else? Are they good boats? Any info will be appreciated.

They are great boats that are well made.Like any used boat you will have to do your own inspection or have someone else do it for you.The value of the boat will vary according to where you are located. Also with economic times.
NADA.com does give boat values.

Could you estimate a range; assuming there are no flaws with the boat/engine? We live in North Alabama.

They are asking $16,000. Make your offer $13,500 and stick to it. I bet he would sell. The blue book figure he says is wayyyyyyyy over. I had a 1998 VIP vixen 2096 with a 5.0 merc alpha 1 and enjoyed the boat. I bought the boat when it was two years old and paid 15,000. That was when the economy was way better. I might even start at 12K and you could always go up to the 13.5

Re: Question about VIP 202 Vantage and VIP boats in general

Hi,
I bought a VIP 202 Vantage 2004 with a 4,3 Mercrucier (54 hours) for US 11.500, but I had to expend others US 2.000 to fix a motor, and others 1.000 in the bimini, carpet and covers. I think that your offer is good, but US $16.500 is not a bad deal.

It?s runs really really great.

Good lucky
