Question about which controls to use

I am thinking about buying an older Johnson 70 hp sea horse. I had an old mercury but I burned it up. I have always loved a johnson motor so I am happy to be getting another one. I have quicksilver controls for the mercury. What I need to know is if I need to buy new cables or the whole control and cables. I havnt tried but my guess is that I am going to have to get new steering cables to?

Your gonna' need both the control and control cables MIGHTFISH. The steering cable will work. Steering cables are pretty much universal.

just check ebay. lots there. look under johnson controls,evinrude controls, omc controls. all three of these will work with the older seahorse. i assume it has the big red wiring plug. brackets and ends are available thru iboats store.
