you are saying that the extra oil could cause surges well my rebuilt doesnt and I had a fuel leak which slowed my boat speed so you are saying that a rebuilt with the extra oil does not run all the way correctly till you use the norm oil ratio and when is the torque check be done how many hours after first running I cant get straight answers from some people employed as boat mechanics i mean i can work on just about any thingnut i do need spec info every now and then man my boat starts now before I let go a the key 1999 120 force

Re: question for 12 footer

Yes. I'm saying extra oil can foul plugs. All new and rebuilts do foul plugs durring the breakin. If they didn't, we would all run 25:1 all the time, just for the added protection of the added oil.
Some wrenches will turn you loose with a rebuilt, and not even a breakin instruction, much less an after breakin tune up.
But your engine will just not run right after a rebuild, due to carbs out of adjustment, timing, fouled plugs ect. And to adjust a carb to run on 25:1 mix, then go back to 50:1,and expect it to run normally,is asking too much. If it were my engine, I would follow the breakin instructions, and wait until after breakin to address any performance problems.
This is just the way I would it,and is just my opinion.
