Question for 16' SuperSport owners

I've been pondering a restoration of a worn out 16' SS in my head. Tiller's are neat, I grew up on them. So here's my questions: Would a conversion to tiller stearing be possible with the stock splashwell? Or, is it just too deep?

Suppose it could be modified but keeping it stock would help keep water outside the boat and simply make it an easier conversion. No Mercury BigTiller either, I'm talking standard length affordable tiller.

Too big!

To make that boat a tiller you'd have to modify the giant splashwell to a mini splashwell.

Totally can be done though;)

Bummer...I was thinking it would be neat to keep the bow seating and remove the consoles, no bow platform. Maybe not as fish friendly but wit would be family friendly. Another idea I had bouncing around was moving the consoles and reinstalling the starboard side right at the stern, again leaving the bow seating. It would really open up the boat.

I love my Sylvan but at 18' and with an IO everything is that much bigger, more expensive, yadda yadda yadda, not to mention it's not a light setup. Having a hard time deciding whether to restore the Sylvan or sell it next year and look for a 16SS to totally renovate right off the bat.
