When you look in a mirror, right is left and left is right. Correct? Why isn't up down and down up? ;)
john

I think mirror is the key word. in order to invert upsidedown I believe a refraction (thru the lens of a telescope) must occur.

Boy, we really are getting cabin fever arnt we???

It depends on the angle of the reflective surface!

For instance if you look at a tree reflecting off of a lake it will be upside down and left to right!

Re: Question for all time

The mirror will relect exactly what is in front of it. Each "dot" of the mirror will reflect the "dot" of your face it sees directly in front of it, so the image looks reversed to us. It sees us right side up, so this is what it shows. Hope this is clear, because I'm not sure I explained it right. I try not to look in the mirror myself, because I'm not happy with what I see.

If you want that effect, look at a mirror through a magnifying glass. I really don't know, just guessing.

Depends on how you hold the mirror.
One way you hold it, left will be down and right will be up and look at it a different way and right will be down and left will be up.

I don't know.
Hurts my head to think to much. :p

Never had a cookie go stale here. If it was soft or hard when I bought it, it was the same way when I ate it
