Question for Dhadley -1995 Evinrude 225hp

Dhadley, I am looking at purchasing a 1995 Evinrude 225 Vindicator. The motor has 52 total hours on it. Buying it from my next door neighbor. There has never been any repair or maintenance done to the motor. The motor was last used about 18 months ago. I am going to purchase it Saturday. Were there any problems with this motor? Anything I should beware of?<br /><br />Thanks....Doug

Yes there are problems with that model. Many have had the powerhead go due to wrist pin letting go. Thats from experience nothing a 2,500.00 check won't cure.
