I just want to first thank you for all the help you have given me in the past couple of weeks. I cant seem to find time to make it to the water, but I need to check the timing on this thing. Is there any way to check the timing on this motor without going to the river to do it? I have heard of people unhooking the linkage or something and adding or subtracting a degree or two to get the actual high timing. How much timing should I be running on this thing anyway?
Thanks again:
Jason

Yes, it can be done but it still needs to be verified under a load. I'm like you and don't like to hang off the back of a boat at speed. Some boats are easier to do that than others but I still think its safer on the trailer. We do it when the ramp is not busy and it only takes about 10 seconds to run the rpm up and check it.

Since your already running and have been, thats the same as doing the initial setting.

Let me know how you make out!
