Engine runs good but still getting the alarms. My mechanic will be checking it out this week. If it's running lean it would take longer to blow as opposed to no oil at all....right?? Any idea how long something like that would take to start damaging the motor?? I'm worried and just can't seem to ask enough questions. Thanks man I appreciate it.

Thats sort of like asking what is the lesser of two evils though. Both are bad for your motor, but I personally would think that no oil is worse than a lean condition. A lean running motor runs hot, but a motor running without oil runs hot and "dry", meaning not enough oil to keep things lubed up. If you just figured it out that you had a problem ,you should be ok. I wouldn't keep using it though. Hows your plugs look?

I won't be able to check the plugs until Wednesday. The boat is 90 minutes away and I'll be going on vacation Wednesday. Hopefully my mechanic will give me good news for my vacation. Plugs should be some what oily I imagine....right?? I would hope these motors have some tolerance.
