I remember (I think 
) bac when I was a kid that on Saturday afternoon there were auto rodeos on tv.
Demolition derbies, dirt track racing, and this crazy event that had a specially outfitted car....platform on the rear bumper, with grab-handles.
The contestant wouldd stand on the platform as the car accelerated to a fixed speed, on a straight section of asphalt.
Just before passing the start line he (women were too smart to participate ) would drop off onto his butt and the object was to side the farthest.
The players would have a really thick leather pad strapped onto their aces. There was serious smoke pouring out, and the occasional fire.
Does anyone else remember this, or did I dream it?
