Question for OBJ

Hey OBJ. I saw a post from earlier in the month where you gave some advice on a 94'/95' Evinrude trolling motor. I just bought a 94' Sea Nymph 16.5' with just such a trolling motor. I would like to know what effects putting this trolling motor (and the boat too for that matter) in salt/brackish water. <br /><br />Thanks

Hey grh.....wellllll....let anything stand in salt water for a period of time and it will play havoc with it if it's not made for salt water use. If you are only going to periodically use the rig in saltwater, just wash her down good with fresh water after the trip. This also means running the engine on muffs to clean the inards out also. A little soap and water won't hurt either.
