I took my boat out from hibernation today and I hook up the battery but forgot to hook up the thinner black wire. What are these wires for(black & red)? I checked the wires back and it looks like it is connected to the charging system. I don't remember these wires in my last outboard.
Can somebody fill me in Please?

Re: Question for thiner wires going to battery

The thin black and red wire on my harness that is attached to the battery is the ground and hot wires for my fuse panel. Important to have it hooked up, otherwise none of my accessories will work. Nav. lights, bilge pump, courtesy lights etc.

Thanks pnwboat. It was getting dark, I must of been looking at the wrong wires.
